Manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS) is a very widely practiced surgery in India and is very costeffective for high volume cataract centres, providing good visual outcome. It is low cost, has a shorter learningcurve, requires fewer instruments, is universally applicable to all grades of cataract and also helps to bail outfrom difficult surgical situations, at times. This video based course design will cover the basic steps of theMSICS in a simplistic and systematic way and allow participants to comprehend and assimilate the quintes-sential nuances of the surgery easily. Special emphasis will be on performing the surgery under different localanaesthetic techniques and facing surgical challenges confidently in difficult situations.
