PURPOSE
To compare corneal endothelial cell count and IOP changes in 60 eyes of 60 patients (>45 years), before and after Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy, in patients with posterior capsule opacification among-
Group A- Single pulse energy of 1.6mJ with total energy less than 10mJ
Group B- Single pulse energy of 2.2mJ with total energy less than 20mJ
METHOD
Endothelial cell count and IOP was evaluated using non-contact specular microscopy and non contact tonometer before and after capsulotomy between Aug’16 to Dec’17. Changes were observed at 2 hours,2 days,2 weeks,2 and 6 months. Data was analysed using t-test and P<0.05 was considered significant. Both the groups were compared and the statistical significance was observed. RESULTS Mean total energy in group A and B was 8.21and 16.72 mJ. A statistically significant loss in endothelial cell count (9.15% and 12.14% in group A and B) was found while changes in IOP were statistically insignificant.
