Purpose: To analyze anatomical and functional success in patients who had undergone squint surgery at tertiary care centre.
Methods: The data from patients who had undergone squint surgery during the last 3 years and had completed a minimum follow up of one month were included in the study. Pre and postoperative angle of deviation and binocular status was measured by Bagolini striated glasses and Titmus fly test at each follow up.
Results: There were total of 50 patients; 21 males and 29 females with mean age 15.06±8.7 years at surgery out of which 21 had convergent and 29 had divergent strabismus . Postoperative orthotropia was achieved in 47 patients (94%). Binocular function on Bagolini striated glasses was present in 44 % of patients. Stereopsis improved from 579.23 to 347.94 seconds of arc compared to preoperative status, which was found to be significant (p <0.001). Conclusions: The binocular functions including stereopsis show improvement post strabismus surgery.
