Purpose: To study retinal microvasculature in Dry AMD patients using OCTA. Methods: A cross sectional study with 40 pts with clinically diagnosed dry ARMD and 40 normals was done. Retinal and choroidal microvasculature of subjects was tested by measuring vessel density on OCTA. Cross-sectional SS-OCT of macular region provided choroidal thickness. Vessel spacing and FAZ area between patients and controls were compared and p < 0.001 was considered significant. Results: OCTA at both superficial and deep vessel layer showed an increase in total spacing for both large and small vessels in dry ARMD group as compared to normal but not statistically significant. Also there was a statistically significant reduction in total FAZ area in Dry ARMD pts. Conclusion: Studies have shown that vascular factors are important in AMD pathogenesis. In our study using OCTA, we show that both superficial and deep retinal plexuses are altered among patients affected by AMD
