INTRODUCTION : Squamous cell carcinoma being the 2nd most common eyelid tumor metastasizes to preauricular and submandibular lymphnodes. If the malignancy of conjunctiva is along with basal cell carcinoma then the tumor may have histopathlogical elements of both as it arises from the same pluripotent epidermal cells.
MATERIAL AND METHOD : A male of 45 years developed a painless mass over lateral aspect of right eye upperlid since 5 months along with enlarged preauricular lymphnodes. After radical neck dissection he was diagnosed as carcinoma lid . Due to chemotherapy there was significant reduction of tumor mass so he was again operated for eye lid tumor by excision and grafting followed by radiotherapy .Histopathology report confirmed it to be basosquamous cell carcinoma lid.
Hence we conclude that Inspite of wide excision of upperlid , by OkADA’S V-Y mucocutaneous tarsoconjunctival flap we were able to reform upper lid with significant lid closure.
