strabismus fixus convergence is an ocular motor abnormality with the eye fixed in esotropic and hypotropic position . It is typically associated with moderate to high myopia.
Methods: We describe a patient of high myopia presenting with almost sunken eye in the medial side with difficulty in vision.Clinical features were consistent with strabismus fixus convergence. On examination he had angle esotropia and hypotropia with a limitation to abduction and elevation.
Results: Orbital imaging demonstrated displacement of the lateral rectus muscle path inferiorly and the superior muscle path nasally. Patient was treated with supramaximal recession of medial rectus and loop myopexy with silicon band with significant improvement in ocular alignment.
Conclusion: Loop myopexy with or without Medial rectus recession gives very good cosmetic results with improved visual feilds in stabismus fixus convergence.
