PURPOSE: To compare the stereoacuity in different grades of cataract and bilateral pseudophakics
STUDY DESIGN: A cross sectional analytical study
SETTING: Medical college and Hospital
DURATION OF STUDY: May 2017- April 2018
PATIENTS AND METHODS:
150 subjects with senile cataract and 50 patients with pseudophakia were included in this study. After a complete ophthalmic evaluation, patients with senile cataracts were classified into 3 groups as per LOCS-III classification system and bilateral pseudophakics patients were included into 4th group. Stereo-acuity in all patients was assessed using titmus fly chart.
RESULTS
Mean age was 46.33, 56.1, 58, 64.4 years and mean stereoacuity was 160 , 214.28, 928.57 ,151.42 arc seconds in group I,II,III,IV respectively. P value was significant (using ANOVA Test)
CONCLUSSION:
Good stereo-acuity is seen in bilateral pseudophakics than subjects with cataract, and decreases with increasing grades of cataract
