AIM:
To study the efficacy of topical Rebamipide in dry eye of various aetiologies.
MATERIALS&METHODS:
Topical Rebamipide 2% was administered to 50 eyes of 25 patients suffering from dry eye due to varied aetiologies over a period of 8 weeks.The results were analyzed in three categories-improvement in Schirmers and Rose Bengal staining,symptomatic improvement and reduction in the dosage of lubricating drops at the end of every week.Side effects reported by the patients were also analyzed.
RESULTS:
There was substantial improvement and reduction in the use of lubricating drops and ocular surface improvement.
