Ancillary tests in dry ARMD are done only when a patients complains of metamorphopsia, visual loss disproportionate to fundus signs or when subtle signs of wet AMRD are present.
We report tn this poster 6 cases of various sub types of dry ARMD who were asymptomatic. Routine OCT prior to cataract surgery in these patients showed evidence of sub retinal fluid & occult CNVM that was not suspected clinically to start with as even biomicroscopy had not revealed any suspicious signs. Based on these observations we recommend routine OCT screening for all patients dry ARMD to avoid missing occult wet ARMD,Being noninvasive OCT is ideal in this scenario
