FP561 : A CASE OF CORTICAL BLINDNESS

A 42 year old Male presented with history of sudden loss of vision of both eyes for the past two months. Patient was a known case of diabetes mellitus for 15 years,on examination his vitals were stable anterior segment was normal with visual acuity of only hand moments in both eyes and colour vision was also defective. On further examination Riddoch Phenomenon was positive and patient was having Antons syndrome.Fundus examination revealed mixed retinopathy with moderate NPDR with CSME and grade 2 hypertensive retinopathy which was more in left eye than the right eye which was not correlating with the patients vision. Blood investigations were normal. CT revealed acute infarct in the posterior cerebral artery watershed area bilaterally and diagnosed to be a case of cortical blindness
