Introduction There is variation in the vitro efficiency of antibacterial agents against bacterial pathogen causing conjunctivitis. Thus the current trends in etiology of conjunctivitis and its antimicrobial susceptibility must be updated to make a rational choice of initial antibiotic therapy. Method-Study was conducted among 40 conjunctivitis patient<2 year of age. Sociodemographic and clinical data were collected. Conjunctival swabs were collected, gram staining was done & inoculation on culture media was done.Antimicrobial susceptibility pattern of isolates were determined.Result-Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae amounted 90%. Overall 90% were susceptible to gentamicin, 80-85% to ciprofloxacin & ofloxacin. Conclusion coagulase positive Staphylococcus were most frequent bacteria isolated & were sensitive to aminoglycosides & fluoroquinolones.
