Method: The observational study of 32 eyes of 30 patients was carried out using RTvue(OptovueInc, Fremont, California, USA)to measure the choroidal thickness(CT) using cross lines scan. CT was measured in the subfoveal area and at 500µm intervals from the fovea to 2000µm temporal, nasal, superior and inferior to the fovea, at 1000µm intervals superior, inferior, nasal & temporal to the optic disc in active stage and healed stage of uveitis.
Result: Mean subfoveal choroidal thickness±SD was 343.34±126.59μm and 297.39±84.0μm in the active and healed stage in all uveitic eyes respectively. The mean CT in all four quadrants around the fovea reduced significantly(p<0.05) in healed stage compared to the active stage at all locations except at 2000µm superior to the fovea(p=0.086).The maximum change of CT was noted in the subfoveal region(45.95µm). Conclusion: The CT decreased significantly from the active to the healed stages of uveitis.
