Road traffic accident is one of the important causes of ocular injuries. Due to lack of implementation of strict traffic rules on our country, people traveling by two-wheelers generally try to over speed, skip red lights or try to fit in their children. We present three cases of severe irreversible ocular injuries following road traffic accident that could have been prevented simply by wearing a helmet. Two of the patients had complete avulsion of the optic nerve but the globe integrity was maintained while the third patient had multiple orbital bone fractures with proptosis that led to complete epithelisation of the ocular surface leading to an irreversible visual loss. Ocular morbidity and even loss of lives could be prevented by promoting the habit of wearing a helmet through behavior change communication. Gross pictures of the ocular injury along CT pictures will be shown in the poster.
