Aim- The aim of this study is to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of ganglion cell complex (GCC) parameters, ONH parameters and RNFL thickness obtained with spectral domain-optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and to determine their role in the early diagnosis of primary open-angle glaucoma patients.

Study design: A case-control observational study was conducted on patients of 55 POAG(cases) and 50 normal(control) patients presenting to the Eye OPD over a period one year. The patients underwent reliable standard automated perimetry (30-2) testing and Spectral Domain Optical Coherence (SD-OCT) Tomography imaging Retinal Nerve Fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, Optic Nerve Head analysis and Ganglion Cell Thickness (GCC) along with complete ophthalmic examinations. Receiver operating characteristic curves (ROC) were studied for all parameters

Results: There was a significant difference in RNFL thickness, rim area and GCC thickness between normal and glaucoma patients
