FP479 : Topical heamocoagulase and tucking in – Reduce the recurrence in Pterygium surgery

Aim: To compare the recurrence rate after simple suture less, glue less pterygium surgery with use of topical heamocoagulase and tucking in conjunctival auto graft surgery.

Material and Methods: 64 eyes of 64 patients diagnosed with true primary pterygium with any gender and age were subjected to surgery and divided into 2 groups – Group A (32eyes)- simple suture less, glue less conjunctival auto graft Group B(32 eyes)- use of topical heamocoagulase and tucking in conjunctival auto graft.

Results: Group A four (12.5%) recurrence and one patient lost the graft (3.12%) and group B two (6.25%) showed recurrence.

Conclusions: Use of topical Heamocoagulase, tucking in conjuctival auto graft is better option to reduce the recurrence.
