Purpose: To report two cases of Moyamoya disease
Methods: Analysis of two cases of Moyamoya disease. The subjects reported, underwent extensive ophthalmological & neurological evaluation, including neuroimaging.
Case report:Two subjects with Moyamoya disease are described .A 14 year old girl with headache along with unilateral defective vision and optic atrophy and a 32 year old lady with sudden bilateral vision loss with no ocular findings.Magnetic Resonance Imaging of brain of both patients showed bilateral stenosis of supraclinoid portion of Internal Carotid Artery (ICA) with formation of abnormal vascular network at base of brain.
Conclusion: This case report includes unusual presentations of Moyamoya disease.Systemic features of stroke which may accompany ICA stenosis were absent in both the cases. Hence the role of imaging for clinching the diagnosis is reinforced.
