PURPOSE : To evaluate structural and functional outcome along with quality of vision in myopes with Central Cornea Thickness less than 500μm post Photo Refractive Keratectomy
METHODS : CCT,Refraction,UCVA ,BCVA,safety and efficacy indices, contrast sensitivity,IOP were measured before and after surgery and questionnaire formed for assessing the quality of vision
RESULTS : Mean age of patients was 24.47 years. Mean CCT was 486 and 435 μm pre and postoperatuvely. Mean pre and postoperative BCVA and postoperative UCVA was 0.011 ± 0.03 , 0.003 ± 0.01 and 0.054 ± 0.09 log MAR respectively.Mean keratometry readings pre and postoperatively were 44D and 42D respectively.Safety index is 0.003 and efficacy index 0.12.Grade 1 corneal haze was in 1 case
CONCLUSION : PRK seems to be acceptable in terms of both safety and efficacy, based on the stability of postoperative refraction, visual acuity, and topographic outcomes, and outcomes based on the safety and efficacy indexes in thin corneas
