Frontal mucocele is a mucus containing sac in sinus,capable of invading the orbit & continue to expand.It mimic as benign growths primarily in orbit.
CASE-A 60 yr old female presented with protusion of LE following trauma with pain redness & watering for 5 days.she noticed a mass in left eye 10year back which gradually increase in size & push the eyeball forward.now she sustained a blunt trauma 5 days back,following which there is proptosis of eye associated with severe pain defective vision redness & watering.
O/E-eyelid edematous,eyelash matted ,conjunctiva-congested & chemosed,cornea-exposurekeratitis.
VA-PL positive with PR all quadrant intact[LE]
FNAC-inflammatory lesion
CT &MRI-mucocele of left frontal sinus with intraorbital & intracranial extension.
surgical workup-incision was given in superotemporal quadrant of length 2cm,drainage of mucopus around 20ml was done.there was thickening & excavation of frontal bone.
post op VA-CF 1mt.
Remarkble vision improvment after 7 day.
