A 59 years female came with recurrent painful periorbital swelling in the right eye associated with lacrimation and severe decreased vision since few months. Her VA for R/E was FCCF and periorbital swelling and ecchymosis.A mass was palpated in infraorbital region.RAPD was present in the R/E. Mild vitritis.Fundus showed blurring of disc margin, fibrous tissue like components from the optic disc to the macula. Also RPE atrophy and pigmentary changes. The USG showed an irregular thick walled cystic lesion with ill defined internal floating contents in the infraorbital region. The patient was treated with oral antibiotic, oral prednisolone 1mg./kg. body wt. for 1 week and then tapered off. The infraorbital region was explored and a thick walled cystic mass was excised. Patient became asymptomatic after that.VA remained unchanged. On HPE,a granulomatous lesion with eosinophilic infiltration and mixed inflammatory cells with hooklets and suckers suggestive of cysticercosis.
