A 38 year old male sustained an open globe injury with partial autoevisceration of left eye following RTA.
CT-Brain done showed large area of air pocket. Patient underwent left eye evisceration.
Review CT Brain revealed radiolucent structure to be a wooden foreign body. Patient underwent re-exploration and three wooden pieces were retrieved and preserved .
High index of clinical and radiologic suspicion is required as wooden foreign bodies are easily missed.
