OBJECTIVE: To study clinical and demographic profile of comittant squint and effects of resection versus plication in same.
METHOD: I had divided patients in two groups by randomisation and then one group underwent resection and one underwent plication. preoperative and post operative datas were compared.
RESULT: study included 40 eyes. 20 underwent plication and 20 underwent resection. Even after resection the number of patients with residual squint found to be lesser than that observed after plication. But residual squint observed after plication is reversible.
CONCLUSION: Though chances of residual squint is more relatively more in plication but still it is better than resection as it is reversible and reintervention is possible.
