Prof.Vanathi M, V07265

Purpose: To evaluate Thrombospondin1 (TSP-1) single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in Asian Indians

Methods: Prospective analysis of rejection patients & controls for genotyping SNPs using 3 TSP-1 tagging SNPs (rs1478604,A>G; rs2228261,C>T; rs2228262,A>G) by Tetra-ARMS PCR genotyping

Results: 45 patients & 65 controls allele frequencies was rs1478604(A>G) A: 69.7% & 72.6 %, G: 30.2% & 27.3%;

rs2228261(C>T) A: 70.2% & 62.3%, G: 29.7% & 37.6%; rs2228262(A>G) A: 97.4% & 98.4 %; G 2.5% & 1.5% in rejection group & controls respectively. Genotype frequencies was rs1478604(A>G) AA: 57.8% & 59.3%, AG 23.6% & 26.5% ; GG 18.4% & 14%; for rs2228261(C>T) TT: 40.5% & 33.8%, TC: 59% & 56.9%, CC: 0 % & 9.2%; for

rs2228262(A>G) AA: 94.8% & 96.8%, AG: 5.1% & 3.1% in rejection & controls respectively.

Conclusion: Asian Indian population evaluated for TSP1 SNPs by Tetra-ARMS PCR genotyping in Asian Indian population did not show any genetic predisposition to immune rejection occurrence in our study.
