This is an observational cross-sectional clinical study to look for changes in RNFL thickness, Macular thickness and ONH Topography before and after trabeculectomy using Spectral Domain OCT. 56 patients were enrolled. Pre-operative OCT scans were done 1-2 weeks prior to surgery. Post-operative OCT scans were performed in the follow-up visits (1month and 3 months respectively). Mean age of the study population was found to be 54.41+/- 11.1 years. Average RNFL thickness increased from the baseline 65.73(+/-13.7) microns to 66.32 (+/-13.4) microns (P=0.1127). The macular thickness increased at the end of 3 months from the baseline (P=0.9641). Cup volume and CDR showed a decrease, Rim area showed an increase at the end of 3 months (not statistically significant). Although no significant correlations were observed between the parameters tested, a significant negative correlation was found, showing that as IOP lowered, RNFL thickness was found to increase post-operatively.
