Dr.MANOJ KUMAR, K18799

Aim: To study the incidence of Lens induced glaucoma and correlate the post surgical visual outcome with type of Lens induced glaucoma.

Methods: Confirmed cases of LIG were evaluated according to age gender and type of LIG. Visual acuity was assessed at the time of presentation, post op day 1 and post op 6 weeks.

Results: Incidence of LIG was 2.8%. Phacolytic glaucoma was the most common type (52.9%). Phacolytic, Phacomorphic and Phacotopic glaucoma are presenting at 59±9, 55±8, 49±9 years age respectively. Females affected more than males (53.8%) except in phacotopic glaucoma. Postoperatively 51.5% of Phacomorphic and 45.5% of phacolytic glaucoma patient regained good visual acuity at 6 weeks.

Connlusion: LIG is more common in middle and old age females. Post surgical visual outcome is best with phacomorphic glaucoma.
