Purpose: To assess clinical, anatomical features in SD-OCT and macular function in Uveitic Macular Edema (UME) and treatment response
Method: 45 eyes of UME from June’16-Apr’17 were prospectively analysed on day of presentation, at 1st month and 2nd month for distant vision (DV) and near vision with reading speed and critical print size (CPS), central macular thickness (CMT), patterns of ME, IS-OS loss, ERM, VMT & SRF on SD-OCT.
Result: Mean age was 48.04 yrs (20-75yrs) with 21 males and 24 females. CMT ranged from 0.1 – 0.54 log SD-OCT value with 19 eyes cystoid, 23 diffuse and 3 mixed ME, 28 SRF, 22 ERM, 2 VMT and 19 IS-OS loss. 29 eyes had significant decrease in CMT (<0.1 log) post treatment. DV≥6/24 in 32 cases and 6/36 ≤ in 13 cases, CPS ≥N12 in 24 cases and N18 ≤ in 21 cases. Reading speed ≥ 75 words/min in 22 cases and ≤75 words/min in 23 cases. Conclusion: SD-OCT parameters with functional assessment are necessary to achieve success in the treatment of UME.
