Objective: Compare ganglion cell layer(GCL) & inner plexiform layer(IPL) in non-diabetics, diabetics with DR and diabetics with DR.

Methodology:Study conducted in 60 eyes of 30 participants.Participants divided in 3 groups; 10 each of nondiabetic (Cat1), diabetics without DR (Cat2) and diabetics with DR (Cat3). GCL+IPL was examined &compared using Zeiss OCT Macular cube 512*128. GCL& IPL thickness 6 sectors superior, inferior, superonasal, superotemporal, inferonasal and inferotemporal & avg GCL+IPL & min GCL+IPL compared & analysed using Kruskal Wallis test. P<0.05 considered significant.

Result: Out of 30 participants 60% were male and 40% were female.Mean age of subjects was 51.9 ± 5.6 years. There was significant reduction in ganglion cells in subjects with diabetics along with DR (KW Statistics 12.98 and p< 0.01) which is significant.

Conclusion- There was significant reduction in the ganglion cells in subjects with diabetics along with retinopathy
