FP1691 : Study to evaluate thickness of RNFL & GCL-IPL in patient with no & mild DR in type 2DM using SD-OCT

An observational study was performed to measure the thickness of RNFL and GCL-IPL in a type 2 diabetic mellitus patients with no and mild diabetic retinopathy with enrollment of 90 (180 eyes) patients.GCL-IPL & RNFL thickness of 60 type 2 DM patients (30 patients of no DR & 30 patients of mild DR) & 30 healthy controls were measured using SD-OCT.All patients underwent complete ophthalmologic examinations.We demonstrated a significantly reduced GCL-IPL & RNFL thickness in both no and mild DR groups as compared with healthy controls and no significant difference were found between 2 groups of diabetic patients.we also found that the correlation between GCL-IPL & RNFL thickness with diabetic duration & HbA1c were statistically insignificant.
