Introduction:Ectopia lentis can be caused due to trauma, ocular disease,or systemic disease.Trauma is the most common cause. Many ocular and systemic diseases can also predispose ectopia lentis by pathologies related anatomical predisposition and weakening of zonules.
Case Report:A 55 year old male, presented with diminution of vision in both eyes since 2 months. History of fall on road causing trauma to side of head 2 months back in inebriated condition. On examination the crystalline lens was seen in the anterior chamber in both the eyes.IOP in RE was 55 mm of Hg and LE was 57 mm of Hg.No systemic abnormalities were present.
Treatment: Both eyes ICCE was done with SFIOL implantation.
Discussion: Dislocation of Lens in the AC secondary to minor blunt trauma to head is mostly due to weakening of zonules due to metabolic or systemic abnormalities like Marfans Syndrome and Homocysteinuria. Anterior dislocated Lens causes Lens Induced Glaucoma, treated by surgical removal of lens from AC.
