Aim of study:To study &treat ocular disorders in children with learning disabilities &correlation with perinatal history .Materials&methods:Children with learning disabilities of eastern odisha examined by ophthalmologist,psychiatrist,optometrist &social worker from Aug 2017 -jan2018&followed up for 4mnths.IQ&medical h/o noted.Distant V.A measured withSnellen’s tumbling E-chart or Kay pictures.Statistical analysis done withSPSS&chi-square tests.Results:Out of400 students examined,324were<16yr,of which189-boys &135-girls.279 hadmoderate to severe learning disabilities (IQ<50).247 -ocular problems,102-uncorrected refractive error,49-strabismus,17-congenital anomalies,23-optic atrophy&137 >1abnormalities.129 children with H/o perinatal history had ocular disorders.visual problems common in children withH/o epilepsy,cerebral palsy &Downs syndrome.Conclusion:Early detection &correction of ocular problems in children with learning disabilities prevent future visual catastrophe.
