Aims: To assess success rate of revision lacrimal surgeries performed in children
Methods: This is a retrospective study. Data extracted from electronic medical record system. Patients under 18 years of age who had undergone lacrimal surgery were included in the study. The outcomes were measured in terms of relief of symptoms of watering, discharge and swelling. Data was exported to excel sheets, crosstabulated and analysed using SPSS 22.
Results: 406 subjects with a mean age of 2.4±1.2yrs were included. Success rates were found to be significant for relief of watering, discharge and swelling in all surgeries namely probing, probing and intubation, canalicular intubation, fistulectomy etc.
Conclusions: Judiciously chosen lacrimal surgeries from a wide array of procedures, based on age at presentation, gives a relief from presenting symptoms with comparable success rates.
