Objective: To study average normal Optic disc parameters in Indian children using HD OCT.
Methods: All children with normal visual acuity included in the study. All children were subjected to examination with minimal signal strength 8. Results reviewed and data regarding optic disc size, RNFL thickness and cup disc ratio collected and analysed with SPSS 22
Results: We studied 90 individuals between ages 7 to 18 years. 46 were females and 44 were males. Mean optic disc size was found 2.13mm, mean neuro-retinal rim area 1.47mm2, retinal nerve fibre layer thickness 93.33 micron and mean cup disc ratio 0.5, and average cup volume is 0.20 mm3.
Conclusion: All commercially machines available have normative data from western countries which is different than Indian population, so we should build an Indian normative data.
