Purpose:Swept-source optical coherence tomography provide a safer,non-invasive, more objective approach in assessment, management & follow up in case of VKH. In this study,we assess structural changes in retina and choroid after treatment in Vogt–Koyanagi–Harada disease using swept-source optical coherence tomography.
Methods: SSOCT was conducted before treatment & during first to second month follow-up in 17 eyes treated for active VKH. Changes in foveal thickness & Sub foveal choroida thickness after treatment were compared with baseline.
Results: Mean Sub foveal choroidal thickness significantly decreased from 571.94 ±199.1 to 404.24 ±183.1μm(p= 0.002) and foveal thickness significantly decreased from 317.35 ± 183.8 to 162.82 ± 44.7μm(p = 0.005)
Conclusions:Our Studies show decrease in foveal thickness & sub foveal choroidal thickness i.e choroidal remodeling in VKH. SSOCT can serve as an important noninvasive tool in assessment of treatment response in patients with VKH disease.
