FP1513 : PREVALANCE OF REFRACTIVE ERROR AND COLOUR BLINDNESS IN SCHOOL GOING CHILDREN IN WARDHA

SYNOPSIS:Cross sectional study in schools of Wardha selected randomly after formal permission from principals and consent of dilating pupils of children with vision less than 6/9(on snellen’s or landolt c chart) for retinoscopy and examining colour vision on ischihara chart ,sample size being 1000 collected in duration of May 2017-May 2018 in children aged 5-15years.Study shows that most of the children having refractive error were not using spectacle.Maximum number of children had myopia followed by mixed which was followed by astigmatism and lastly hypermetropia.These results are hoped to sensitize the public regarding the burden of refractive error which is second largest cause of blindness.
