Objective: To study the outcome of sub bowman’s keratomileusis, in post Radial keratotomy(RK) patient.
Design: Case Report
Methodology: : A 42 year old female patient presented with complaints of diplopia and eye strain following right eye cataract surgery. Previously patient had undergone Radial Keratotomy 28 years back and devloped consecutive hyperopia following cataract surgery in the right eye. To improve the quality of vision, an excimer laser photoablation was undertaken in the right eye using sub bowman’s keratomileusis (SBK) . The refractive correction was aimed to achieve -0.5 D of myopia postoperatively.
Result: Refractive improvement to 6/6 with a residual refractive error of -0.5/0.5×90 (6/6) was observed at one month post operatively and remained constant over 18 months follow up.
Conclusion: Sub bowman’s keratomileusis can be successfully and safely used to correct post Radial Keratotomy refractive errors.
