Dr.PRASHANT BHASKAR BORDE, B20127

An 8 years old female child visited eye opd with the complaints of Headache and blurring of vision for 2 months. Blurring of vision was present for distant, non progressive, painless. On external ocular examination. Anterior segment was normal. Ocular movements were normal in all the gazes. Fundus examination showed Grade 2 papilledema, but no haemorrhages were seen. Patient was evaluated for any space occupying lesion by CT scan brain (P + C) but no space occupying lesion was found. A complete paediatric check and neurological check up was done by Paediatrician followed by Neurologist. The patients had been kept under observation and follow up. All the differentials were evaluated in this case but nothing was found to be reasonable for the diagnosis. Due to the failure to detect any abnormality in all the investigations performed above, it was diagnosed a rare case of benign intracranial hypertension in a patient of paediatric age group.
