AIM:To record and quantify the low vision due to neuro ophthal causes and to know the influence of intervention by recording score improvement.
Methodology
Retrospective analysis of all patients for visual rehabilitation services was done.Detailed clinical ophthalmic evaluation done.Modified version of VFQ25 NEVI version 2000 given toll patients & scoring was done.Outcome measures Ophthalmic evaluation at 3 monthly f/u & VA scoring at 6 monthly was recorded.
Results:
44 patients were evaluated over 1 year out of which 30(68.18%) brain tumour,46% optic pathway gliomas.Median age-26.25. 25 patients < 18 yr19(76%) had brain tumors. Decreased vision- most common chief complaint with the average (BCVA) of better eye being (20/80) and worst eye-20/175.13-optical enhancement,12 -visual stimulation & visual rehab. Avg VFQ score- 98.57 and at 6months f/u-81.4. Conclusion:The current study provides an insight into the baseline spectrum of visual morbidity with special focus on brain tumors.
