AIM To analyse the effects of adding post. subtenon triamcinolone acetonide injection in treatment of macular edema in MS patients resistant to systemic corticosteroid and immunosupressants
METHOD: 45 pts with MS having resistant uveitic macular edema attending RIO between Jun 2017& Apr 2018 received single post subtenon injection of 40 mg/dl triamcinolone acetonide Their BCVA,IOP, FT( foveal thickness) and FA(fluorescein angiography) scores were recorded. Followed up at 4 months
RESULTS:BCVA was significantly improved at follow up (p<0.05). In control visit CFT was220+/-35micromm &FA score(1.4+/-1.1;p<0.001),which improved to CFT 365+/-50 micromm & FA score (3.5+/-1.0;p<0.001) CONCLUSION:CFT & FA score drastically improved.Posterior subtenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide significantly improved VA and decrease macular edema in uveitis associated with MS
