INTRODUCTION: Posterior capsular opacification also known as after cataract is the most common late complication of cataract surgery.MATERIALS& METHODS: 60 eyes of 60 patients with PCO undergoing Nd:Yag laser capsulotomy were included.Thorough preoperative evaluation was made.Cases were followed up at 1 hour,1st day,1 week and 1month Post Laser.RESULTS: Results showed significant improvement in BCVA with 70% patients had BCVA 6/6 at 1 month.36%showed no change in IOP while 64% showed elevated IOP.Among these 59% show rise in IOP that was ≤5mm Hg while only 5% had a rise of more than IOP >5 mm Hg.Only 7 % had rise in IOP compared to baseline IOP on 1week.DISCUSSION: There are complications like inflammatory iritis,They occur due to factors like physical state of trabecular meshwork, which is produced by radiation injury and cutting of posterior capsule.CONCLUSION: Nd:Yag laser capsulotomy is effective, relatively safe, fast OPD procedure to improve hindered vision by PCO.
