Aim Study the ocular involvement in pts of cirrhosis, retinal changes and choroidal thickness measurement

Method Prospective study includes 97 cases of cirrhosis admitted in gastroenterology department from Aug2017 to Apr2018.Visual acquity, Fundoscopy & OCT measurement of choroidal thickness(using enhanced depth imaging) and peripapillary RNFL were done

Results Retinopathy comprising hemorrhages, exudates found in 39pts(40%),temporal pallor in 20pts(20%),drusen in 14pts(14%),choroidal atrophy in 7pts(7%),CSR in 5pts(5%),normal fundus in 11pts Peripapillary RNFL and subfoveal choroid were significantly thinner in all patients

Conclusions This study proves that microvascular effects of portal hypertension has significant effects on retina & choroid. Abnormal volume/flow in choroid can cause photoreceptor and RPE dysfunction.Coagulation impairment results in retinal hemorrhage. Thus ocular manifestations should be looked for in these patients to avoid subsequent ocular morbidity
