Aim-To Compare Optic Nerve Morphology In Open Angle Glaucoma(OAG) And Compressive Optic Neuropathy(CON) in Tertiary Care Setting via OCT.
Methods- Prospective Study from Nov 17 to Apr 18 including 95 eyes of 76 pts with CON (37), OAG (59).Retinal Nerve Fibre Layer Thickness (RNFL) And Optic Nerve Head Changes were recorded.
Results-RNFL comparatively thinner over nasal and temporal quadrants in 45% (16) of CON eyes, 25% (9) CON eyes showing increased vertical C:D ratio and cup volume. Remaining 30% (12) of CON eyes showed both increased C:D ratio and thinning of nasal and temporal quadrants of RNFL. In OAG C:D ratio and cup volume is increased in about 70% (41) OAG eyes and remaining 30% (18) showing both thinning of inferior RNFL along with increased C:D ratio.
Conclusion-Compressive Optic Neuropathy is associated with thinner nasal and temporal sectors as compared to Open Angle Glaucoma, whereas OAG results in larger cup volume with OCT measurements.
