Aim:To evaluate efficacy of MiniScleral(MS) Contact Lens(CL) in severe dry eye. Methods:Prospective interventional case series. Grade IV dry eye, documented treatment dissatisfaction with 24 months followup included. MSCL trial before dispensing. UCVA,BCVA,symptoms, ocular discomfort, artificial tear use,CL handling issues,MSCL complications evaluated before, after fitting&every visit. Fit by MSCL experienced optometrist&assessed by corneal surgeon. All data statistically analysed. Results:Six eyes of 3 females given trial;mean followup of 26.3 months. MSCL conversion rate 100% with ideal or acceptable fit in all. 1 patient ordered second set after 2 years. All extremely satisfied with decreased symptoms, artificial tear usage&improvement in vision. Main complaint intermittent blurred vision likely due to excessive mucus accumulation(3 events of stuck MSCL in same patient). Conclusions: MSCL is excellent option in refractory cases of severe dry eye. However a larger case series is required.
