Aim: a case report of CRVO(intermediate)with recurrent macular edema(ME) treated with intravitreal bevacizumab(IVB) & isovolumic haemodialysis.
Methods:1 eye(1 male patient)was studied(Feb,2013-April,2018).Pre,post treatment(tt) BCVA,IOT,slit lamp,fundus exam,OCT,FFA were done. Inclusion:1.CRVO(intermediate) with profound dimness of vision due to recurrent ME even after anti-VEGF tt 2.No systemic disease. After 6 injections(interval 6 wks)of IVB, patient received isovolumic haemodialysis(IHD)under nephrology care.Follow up-1 mo,6 wks,6mo,12monthly(for 62 mo).
Results: 1eye(1pt)was treated with 6 IVB & IHD(once).Presenting BCVA(RE)-FC 5 mt;(LE)-6/6.Final BCVA(RE)-6/6p,(LE)-6/6.After IHD ME,disc edema,retinal hem resolved. No recurrence of ME,CRVO or no complications related to IHD.
Conclusion:long term follow up(62mo) showed vision improvement(6/6p) in 1 eye after IHD & IVB in CRVO. No recurrence of ME or CRVO progression.Tt may be beneficial in selected patients with CRVO.
