Aim: To study effects of chronic alcoholism on RNFL, macular & central corneal thickness. Materials & methods : Cross-sectional study of 1 year included 240 eyes of 120 patients. 60 cases had h/o chronic alcohol consumption, rest 60 had no such history. Other ocular diseases and/or intake of other substances causing toxic neuropathy were ruled out. All patients had BCVA better than or equal to 6/18. Results : Mean age of alcoholics 42±7.2 years and non-alcoholics 36±5.4 years. Significant thinning of RNFL was noted in all quadrants except nasal quadrant. Mean RNFL thickness was 98.84±15.50&105.43±8.57, mean macular thickness 273.95±8.52 & 289.63±9.54µ, mean CCT 539±40.8µ & 543±37.6µ in alcoholics & non-alcoholics respectively.
