Retrospective analysis of 102 children, in the age group 8-18 years, diagnosed to have amblyopia and treated with occlusion therapy. Snellen’s visual acuity and its logMAR equivalent were recorded prior to treatment and at most recent follow up and results were calculated. Of 102 patients, 27 patients had ammetropic, 67 had anisometropic, 2 had strabismic and 6 had combined anisometropic and strabismic amblyopia. 22 patients had mild, 42 patients had moderate and 38 patients had severe amblyopia. 30 patients were in the age-group of 8-9 years,33 in 10-11years, 28 in 12-13 years and 11 in 14-18 years. .Visual improvement was seen in 87 of 102 patients which was on an average 0.389 logMAR unit.19 of 22 patients (90.90%) with mild amblyopia,35 of 42 patients (93.75%) with moderate amblyopia and 29 of 38 (78.26%) patients with severe amblyopia showed definite visual improvement. Compliant occlusion therapy is beneficial for amblyopia in older children
