Dr.RAHUL MISTRY, M20058

Methods and materials-136 cases were diagnosed with nodular episcleritis between July 2016 and July 2017. Characteristics of nodular episcleritis and effect of three different steroids were studied.

Results-136 cases of unilateral nodular episcleritis selected respectively. They were divided into three groups.56 treated with Dexamethasone, 49 with Loteprednol and 31 with Fluorometholone. Rest eye details were normal and recovery was eventful. Steroids tapered on each group. Cases on Dexamethasone recovered faster compared to other drugs. During this period I.O.P was little raised in dexamethasone therapy compared to other two.

Conclusions-Topical Dexamethasone has faster recovery result as compared to loteprednol and fluorometholone. But it should be given carefully as it is more potent to cause raised intra ocular pressure as compared to fluorometholone and loteprednol.
