INTRODUCTION:- Malignant melanoma is the most common intraocular malignancy in adult age group. It may be primary,secondary or metastatic. Primary are rare with an incidence of 4 to 8 per million per year. Most primary ocular melanomas arise from uveal melanocytes distributed throughout the stroma of the choroid,only 4%–10% of uveal melanomas originate in the iris and are asymptomatic in one-third of cases.
CASE DISCUSSION:- (1).45 yr/M presented with RE periorbital swelling since 4 month .Previous papers revealed history of RE Cataract surgery with PCIOL and trabeculectomy followed by evisceration & partial debulking. On examination cavity was filled with mass.MRI Orbit & B Scan suggestive of lymphoma.Biopsy suggestive of Malignant melanoma. (2). 40 yr/F presented with perforated corneal ulcer.B Scan & MRI suggestive of Cystic uveal melanoma.
CONCLUSION:-Melanomas are usually asymptomatic but may present as Masquarede syndrome. So detailed history & investigations are required.
