Purpose: To report a case of ocular surface squamous cell carcinoma with corneoscleral melting in an immunocompromised patient.
Method: A 46 years old male patient presented with LE whitish growth, gradually increasing in size past one year, associated with diminution of vision, pain & redness since last 6 months. He was a known case of HIV infection on treatment. LE examination showed diffuse ocular surface lesion with papillomatous surface & corneoscleral melting. V/A LE: NO PL. RE examination: WNL.LE Incision biopsy was advised to rule out OSSN.
Result: Incision biopsy showed features of ocular surface squamous dysplasia. LE enucleation with H/P/E confirmed LE ocular surface squamous cell carcinoma.
Conclusion: Ocular surface squamous cell carcinoma may present with corneoscleral melting.Early diagnosis of OSSN can save the eye integrity & vision. Any ocular surface growth should be subjected to histopathological evaluation to rule out OSSN especially in HIV infection.
