Aim: To report a rare case of kasabach merritt syndrome.
Methods:
A 15 year male named kartik, presented with a swelling over left upper & lower eyelid which was soft,nontender,bluish in colour & gradually increasing in size.
On systemic examination,multiple hemangiomas in left submandibular region, upper right cervical region, left flank and left paraspinal region were noted.
BCVA: 6/6 ou
On SLE irregular bluish mass of 16x8mm size over left lower lid and 2×2 mm size on left medial upper lid
IOP: re-14 & le-16 by applanation tonometer
Fundus examination- WNL
Usg eye- the mass was found to be a heterogenous hypoechoic arteriovenous malformation
Significant routine blood investigations-
Hb: 9.2gm% ↓
Bleeding tim: 6 min 15 sec ↑
Platelet counts: 1,25,520/mm3 ↓
Results : The triad of hemangioma, thrombocytopenia & coagulopathy confirms it to be a case of kasabach merritt syndrome.
Conclusion:Hence reported a rare case of kasabach merritt syndrome with prevalence of <1: 1 million.
