Objective:
To evaluate the surgical outcome of using preserved cornea to secure the tube of AGV implant in intractable Glaucoma’s.
Methods
Fifteen patients were included in the study, all underwent AGV implantation, partial thickness scleral flap was sutured and superiorly was reinforced by a preserved corneal flap before finally stitching the Conjunctiva.
Results:
Overall results were excellent ,only one case showed melting of the corneal flap along with shortening of conjunctiva, and migration of the valve starting at the end of 3rd month and led to final extrusion at the end of 4th month.
Conclusion:
We may conclude that Preserved Cornea may serve as an alternative to preserved sclera to prevent tube erosion in tube implants
