Ocular chemical burns (lime/chuna) are very common in developing country, like India. It leads to limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) resulting in visual loss. Our case is a 38year old female presenting with history of lime injury in right eye sustained 2 years back. On presentation, she had diminished vision (hand movements) and vascularised pannus covering total cornea in right eye suggestive of unilateral total LSCD. She was treated with autologous Simple Limbal Epithelial Transplantation (SLET) and Amniotic Membrane Transplantation (AMT). At 2 month follow-up, cornea was avscular and clear with VA improved to 6/18. There was no recurrence of LSCD at 3 month follow up. Therefore, SLET is effective and feasible treatment option compared to other modalities like cultivated limbal epithelial transplantation (CLET) which is expensive and requires laboratory facility and conjunctival limbal autograft which requires more donor tissue.
